Long stays & digital nomads
Staying a month or more? Monthly rentals cost far less than nightly rates. Colombo, the south coast (Weligama, Ahangama, Hiriketiya) and Kandy have the best Wi-Fi and coworking.

- The tourist ETA covers 30 days. Extend at the Department of Immigration before it expires (up to 6 months total).
- Check whether electricity is included. A/C use can add $40–120 a month.
- Fibre broadband (SLT, Dialog) is common in Colombo and Kandy; elsewhere, a 4G router with a data plan works well.
